Please notify the Foundation office at 772-226-4960 as soon as you have initiated your stock transfer
transaction. Oftentimes stocks are transferred through a clearinghouse and the donor’s name is
inadvertently omitted.

Annual Fund
The Indian River Medical Center Foundation was established to provide financial support for the capital needs and special programs of Indian River Medical Center. The capital needs for new and improved equipment, technology, and other priorities are ongoing and vary year to year. The Eagle Society
The Eagle Society was established in 1986 to recognize donors who invest $10,000 or more in better healthcare for our community through Indian River Medical Center.
Members share a commitment to excellence in healthcare and create a firm base of
continuing support for capital projects and innovative new programs for Indian

The James B. Malloy Society
Members of The Eagle Society who reach the prestigious levels of Diamond,
Platinum, Philanthropist and Visionary Eagle receive additional recognition as
members of The James B. Malloy Society and accorded special benefits to further
honor their achievement of this distinction. The James B. Malloy Society was
established in 2009 in honor of our friend Jim Malloy for his exemplary
commitment and personal dedication as a Foundation board member, Medical Center
advocate and extraordinary fundraiser.
Sustaining Eagle Program
The Sustaining Eagle program was established in 2009 to emphasize the importance of annual giving and recognize members of The Eagle Society who provide leadership-level support. Eligibility for Sustaining Eagle membership is based on gifts of cash or cash equivalents totaling $10,000 or more from a single household over a given year.

Planned Giving
What is Planned Giving?
Planned Giving is simply the means by which a donor works with a charitable organization to develop a strategic gift program in his/her estate planning. A planned gift can be a simple bequest or a complex charitable trust. They are not only extremely important to the non-profit organization for which they are designed, but can be beneficial as well to the donor and his/her heirs.
How does planned giving benefit me?
There are many ways to design planned gifts, all of which are valuable to the beneficiary organization whether the donation is a current or deferred transfer of funds or assets. Many planned gifts have significant benefits to the donors, as well, and we are happy to discuss those benefits with you further. Meanwhile, among the most significant donor benefits are the following:
- increased income for the donor or designated income beneficiary
- favorable tax benefits
- reduction in capital gains taxes
How can I make a planned gift to the Foundation?

Grateful Patient Program
Patients who receive excellent care often ask how they can thank their
caregivers. If you are a grateful patient, perhaps you have someone in mind
that would appreciate recognition from you. A gift to the Foundation honoring
a caregiver is among the most sincere tributes someone can make. Whether you
are grateful to a physician for restored health, a special nurse or medical team
for exceptional care, or a patient advocate who held your hand until your loved
ones arrived, a gift in their name will provide valuable support to the
programs, equipment and technology that allow IRMC to maintain the highest level
of healthcare for our community.

Honor/Memorials
Gifts honoring relatives, friends or associates are among the most sincere tributes one can give. They are given in many ways:
- in memory of a loved one
- as a get-well wish to an ill friend or family member
- to celebrate a special occasion such as a birthday, an anniversary, a promotion or a holiday
- in lieu of cards, flowers or gifts at the request of a family in memory of a loved one who recently passed
Honor/Memorial gifts are used to fund capital improvements where they are needed
the most – for advanced technology, innovative new programs and
state-of-the-art facilities needed to meet the healthcare needs of our
community.
The Foundation gladly sends gift acknowledgments on behalf of the donors to the individuals being honored and the families of loved ones being remembered.
