Keeping you informed
Welcome to our 2010 Donor Thank You edition of Advocate. We are happy to report
that important new milestones were met this year. Thanks to you, we’ve flown
past the 1500 mark for Eagle Society member households and now exceeded the $45
million milestone for our $50 million campaign currently underway to complete
the IRMC master facility plan that has already funded the new ER and The Heart
Center.
General surgeons, vascular surgeons, and the heart team continually urge the
Foundation to do everything in its power to secure the funds needed to move
forward with the Surgical Intensive Care Unit and Recovery Room components of
the campaign. We assure them regularly that this is the Foundation’s highest
priority and, as such, pass that request along to you, our supporters.
Special thanks to those who have already supported The 21st Century Campaign
for Indian River Medical Center. If you do not see your name listed among the
campaign supporters, please remember this list only includes donors making gifts
up through September 30, 2010 as does the annual Registry of Benefactors sent to
you at Thanksgiving. If you have not yet given and would like more information,
please call the Foundation at 772.226.4960. We would be honored to have your
support and include you on the temporary version of the campaign donor wall
being installed in January.
We hope you will enjoy meeting a number of people in this issue who are key to
the Foundation’s success. They range from volunteer leaders and Patient
Advocates, all of whom express their collective gratitude for what you, our
donors, make possible for everyone in this community through your philanthropy.
We sadly note leaders of the Foundation who were lost in the last year, in
particular, former Chairman John R. Kennedy, board member Richard Caldwell and
Advisory Counsel members Jeremy Callahan and Carl Nichols. Each made
exceptional contributions to the Foundation and they are greatly missed.
